Job fairs are a great way to meet with employment recruiters and employers face to face and find out about the opportunities they are hiring for. Here are a couple things to consider which will help you have a successful day.
- Plan ahead. Spend a little time and research the event online. Find out what companies will be there and make a list of the top 5 that you definitely want to meet.
- Job fairs are typically a quick interaction. Your goal should be to get an interview date set. If you can get a few minutes with a recruiter, have two or three questions prepared for the recruiter. Be prepared to answer a few questions. Ask for an interview.
- Always… Dress to impress. Business or business casual, no matter what the job is. Get child care for your children. Arrive early. Update your Résumé and have plenty of copies ready to hand out. Ask for an interview.
